Nigerian Comic Republic Shares Suicide Squad Tribute Art

A lot of fans didn’t believe the rotten reviews the Suicide Squad movie got somewhere on the internet, We won’t walk on tomatoes here but Comic Republic seem to love the movie as a tribute art of the DC comics movie was shared on their Facebook page the same day the movie was released in Nigeria.

The image also depicts the face of one of Comic Republic’s most notable character, Avonome! Coincidence? Nope! They loved suicide squad but the post also teases the release date of the 6th issue of Avonome titled The Realm Within!
Avonome is an action/adventure story of Hilda Avonomemi Moses, born in 1937, in the remote village of Etunor, a settlement in Ighara, Edo state. She disappears without a trace only to reappear in a cemetery in recent times, still unchanged, with no memory of who she was or where she had been all this while, except a knowledge of her name, a mysterious companion and an unbelievable gift – the ability to see spirits.
I read Avonome months back and just like every great African comic, there are elements and environments around you would find in the comic – They’re even better in the Comics! I mean, where else can i fly or lift cars, in my dreams?

The 6th issue is set to be released on the 16th of August 2016. Haven’t seen any issue?
