When you have names like Poju-Oyemade, Mahatma Gandhi & JESUS OF NAZARETH (the Christ, our Lord), popping up in the first few pages of a book, that alone has some type of heightened effect on the curiosity of anyone who understands what these names stand for and the principles (in actual practice) that govern the lives and living of these individuals.
Ever the straight shooter, with Funmi what you see is what you get….no contrivances; having met (almost by accident) & worked with her on one of the many causes that she is ever so passionate about, it didn’t strike me as too much of a surprise that this kind of literature would be conceived by a mind such as hers.
The piece reads firstly as an inspirational/motivational, but not at all in the typical sense as its interpretation, flow and structure enamours it with a Selah-like (if you will) yet subtly playful feel.
