What’s that saying about people who don’t learn their lesson? Well, I obviously didn’t learn my lesson from the last time.
Remember when I said I wouldn’t stop reading books before seeing the movies? I didn’t stop and to say that my heart is shattered beyond the reviving powers of Coldstone ice cream is an example of litotes. What’s more, I can bet you guys didn’t pray for me like I asked you to.
I just saw To All the Boys I Loved Before by Jenny Han and oh, I am so pissed. I don’t even know whom to channel my anger to. Jenny Han, for letting them produce a motion picture that poorly describes her writing prowess, or the scriptwriter for not doing an okay job, or the producers of the movie.
Even though it’s been more than a year since I read the book, there are some scenes I still clearly remember and the painful part of it is, those scenes were the poorly depicted ones. I just hope I have learnt my lesson now.
Before you conclude that I had a horrible movie day, let me also point out to you that I saw two other new Netflix movies. One was adapted from a novel and the other wasn’t. The former being Nappily Ever After starring Sanaa Lathan, and the latter being Sierra Burgess Is A Loser.
The good thing is I haven’t read Nappily Ever After so seeing the movie was both really exciting and awesome. I don’t know if I have the heart to look for the book and read. ‘Cos I really don’t want to ruin how I feel about the movie so I’ll just stay put.
As for Sierra Burgess Is a Loser I totally recommend it. When you see this movie, tell me what you think of Noah Centineo.
