Winner

On the Mount by Overcomer Ibiaduradara Ibiteye (Nigeria)

PENGICIAN POETRY CHAPBOOK SERIES 2022
On The Mount

The content and context of this work are centered around climate change; environmental disasters and how we react to the pain they bring. The title “On the Mount” pulls itself from one of the poems in which nature fades, and the earth seems to fold into oblivion with its inhabitants. However, the poem also gives the prospect of a better future, a hope for a universe that is tethering on the edge of nothingness.

First Runner Up

Courageous by Abigail-Tydale Bassey (Nigeria)

PENGICIAN POETRY CHAPBOOK SERIES 2022
Courageous

The twenty-five poems contained in this chapbook manuscript titled ‘Courageous’ range from courageous desires through achievements.

Second Runner Up

White Sun Incandescence by Osy Mizpah Unuevho (Nigeria)

In White Sun Incandescence are poems written in the experience of the dreams in the next body-questions & roamings into metaphysical & metaphilosophical fields of existence: Spirituality, Exile, Love, Grief & Death (As Loss of Possession, A lack of Understanding, & The Departure of Strangers), Masks and the Earth; Geography & and its print on childhood memories.

Third Runner Up

In Conversations by Abasiama Nora Udom (Nigeria)

Conversations have ruled mankind and will continue to do so. I pulled into the different conversations we have, with God, within ourselves, and with every other person. In Conversations is a jamboree of talking and talk back but we have silence too and this is the end of all talk.
