Ake Festival is going to be 5 days of creative cultural displays, with 100 novelists, poets, dancers, actors, illustrators, activists, musicians, artists and thinkers storm the historic city of Abeokuta, Nigeria to share their works and their ideas.
The fifth edition of Ake Arts and Book Festival will take place at the Arts and Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta on 14th-18th of November, 2017.

‘This F-Word’
Conversations will be centred around the various achievements of women within the shores of the country and beyond in the area of immense creativity.
In line with the aim to develop, promote and celebrate creativity on the African continent, Ake Festival 2017 will feature 12 authors in 6 book chats, 1 art exhibition with 5 incredible female artists, 1 stage play, 2 story telling sessions, 1 in-depth interview, school visits, 12 stimulating panel discussions, 5 film screenings, 1 musical concert with 5 amazing women, a tour of historic sites within the state and an unforgettable night of poetry performances. Book enthusiasts and visitors will be thrilled by a range of affordable books at the Ake Festival Bookstore.
