Deadline for submission for the SOBA-Fest – Isele prize for Arts organized by Sokoto Book and Arts Foundation in conjunction with Isele Magazine has been extended to Wednesday, 31st August 2022. Prizes worth N100,000 to be won.

The SOBAFest — Isele Prize is an Isele-sponsored prize for the second edition of Sokoto Book and Arts Festival #SOBAFest coming up soon. It is open to creatives residing in Sokoto and those who can travel to Sokoto if they’re shortlisted, to compete on the #SOBAFest22 stage.

Submission Guidelines

Interested participants are expected to showcase their art or craft in a clip of 120 seconds max and post it on their personal Instagram account with the hashtag, #sobafest22prizeforarts and tag @soba_fest as a collaborator.

Entrants must start the video with a brief introduction of themselves and the genre of art they’ll be performing or include such introduction in their caption. Submission could be spoken words, poetry, music, creative arts, dance, photography, short story or any other artistic work.

The best 10 entries thereupon will advance to the SOBAFest stage, where they will compete with one another to convince the judges that their presentation best interprets the theme of the prize, “A Returning”.

While the online entries are themeless, shortlisted entrants will have to come up with fresh presentations that are in line with the festival’s theme for their performance on the SOBAFest stage.
